Alexander Basile

Born in 1981 in Cologne. From 2009 to 2013, he studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne under Prof. Johannes Wohnseifer and Prof. Mischa Kuball, graduating with distinction. In 2012, he received the Media Art Prize NRW for Young Artists, followed by the Rhein Silver Award in 2014. His work examines the representation of media culture through exhibitions, lecture performances, and publications. He also approaches curating as an artistic practice and has realized projects with institutions including the Bundeskunsthalle and the Photomuseum Thessaloniki. In 2020, his series "Emerging Sculptures" was presented in the exhibition SUBJEKT und OBJEKT. FOTO RHEIN RUHR at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf.
